Covert Escape Compass – Nickel or Euro
A coin-format compass for basic magnetic-north indication. Choose the nickel or euro version; thread is not included.
This coin-format compass draws on the compact escape-compass concept used by airmen and commandos during World War II. Made from an actual nickel or euro coin, it provides a basic magnetic-north indication using suspension rather than a conventional compass capsule. A groove around the rim accommodates thread; when correctly suspended, the head on the coin indicates magnetic north.
Actual coin construction
Choose the nickel or euro version. The selected coin forms the compass itself rather than serving as a decorative cover for a separate dial.
Thread-suspension design
A groove around the edge accommodates thread so the coin can hang freely and settle into its north-indicating position. Thread is not supplied.
Simple directional reference
The device provides a basic magnetic-north indication. It is intended as a compact backup rather than a graduated instrument for taking precise bearings.
